How We Give

We have never made a big deal out of giving at Area 3:16.  We don’t pass the plate, we think giving is between you and God.  Jesus said in Matthew 6:4: “Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you”, so we don’t talk about giving a lot. We leave the motivation to God and we simply provide a basket near the entrance to the Worship Center for your offerings and gifts.  We have recently added anther way that we believe is consistent with our family culture.  We have added the ability for anyone to give to the ministries of Area 3:16 online or from their mobile device.  This method is also private, and is easier for anyone who uses their phone or other device for most or all their transactions.  It also does not require you bring cash or a check with you when you are in the building.  The system won’t accept credit cards, so you can’t go in debt for giving.  If you want to try giving online, just go here

Why We Give

We give a portion of what God has provided to us out of our love for Him and the joy He brings to our hearts.  Giving is a form of worship, of showing our love for God and for one another.  We are guided by the apostle Paul who said in 2 Corinthians 8:11-12: “…Give in proportion to what you have.  Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have”.  That’s why we don’t allow credit cards, so no one can give what they don’t have.  It’s not how much we give, but how joyfully we give that counts.    Area 3:16 uses 10%, a tithe, of our total giving for ministry outside our walls.
